Ecotech is able to supply the entire range of optical cables for outdoor and indoor use. The products supplied are preferably manufactured by the subsidiary Ecotel.
The cables offered are available with different configurations, protections and types of materials according to use and laying methods.
The types of optical cable produced by Ecotel can be classified as follows:
Loose multi-tube cables
Eco.tel. produces loose multi-tube cables with potentials up to 432 fibers, typically with a diameter between 12mm and 18mm, approved as complying with the C.T. 771 or 777 of Telecom Italia, which can be supplied, depending on the project requested by the customer, with the following characteristics:
- Dry or buffered core
- Single or double layer stranding
- Dielectric armor made of glass / aramidic filaments of glass or aramidic strips
- Metal armor in aluminum or steel
- Electro-welded and corrugated steel armor
- Sheath in Polyethylene, LSZH, PVC or Polyamide
Depending on the type of cable and protections, the following types of installation can be supported:
- External – in pipelines
- External – directly underground

Eco.tel. produces loose monotube cables with potentials up to 24 fibers that can be supplied, depending on the project requested by the customer, with the following characteristics:

Mini cables
Eco.tel. produces mini cables with potentials up to 144 fibers, typically with a diameter of less than 8mm, approved as complying with the C.T. 908 of Telecom Italia, with the following characteristics:
- Reduced size and weight
- On request they can also be supplied with metal or dielectric armor
- Sheath in HD polyethylene, polyamide or LS0H material for interiors
Their typical use is both indoors and outdoors, installed in mini pipes, using the “blowing” technique..

Special cables (tight, mini-tight, FTTH riser cable)
Eco.tel. produces cables of different types for various applications, in which the usability and installability characteristics are optimized such as:
- Maximum density of optical fiber
- Handling
- Easy access and extraction of the optical fiber
Specific cables are offered for installations both outdoors, in ducts or microtubes, and indoors, with sheaths with low emission of fumes or toxic gases and / or flame retardants.
In particular, within this category Eco.tel. is able to supply the multi-fiber “riser” cable with extraction for FTTH applications. This type of cable consists of a set of single-fiber cables (up to 24), arranged longitudinally and loosely (without helical stranding) within an LSZH-type outer sheath. The structure and materials used for the construction of the cable cable must facilitate the sliding inside the existing and congested pipes in the laying operations and allow easy extraction and extraction of the fibers even in winding paths. The characteristics of the single-fiber cables making up the multi-fiber cable are the following:
- Non-displaced dispersion optical fiber with low sensitivity to curvature, meeting ITU-T standard G.657A1 or G.657A2;
- optional coating of Ø 350 ± 50 μm, consisting of inert material, applied to the fiber in a tight manner and easily removable in the joining operations;
- aramid yarns or non-metallic reinforcing members, such as to ensure adequate mechanical resistance;
- LSZH outer sheath, with nominal external diameter in the range 0,85 ÷ 0,90 mm, with a tolerance of 0.05 mm. The friction coefficient of the sheath must be low enough to allow the fibers to be easily extracted during the extraction operations on the floors (minimum length to be extracted equal to 5 m).
The single-fiber cables must be identifiable with a specific color code. Any rings, present on the entire circumference of the colored sheath, must be spaced a maximum of 1 cm from each other and have a maximum height of 2 mm.
Multi-fiber riser cables with fiber extraction for FTTH applications produced by Eco.tel. are approved as responding to the C.T. n ° 929 of Telecom Italia and are specifically designed to be used with vertical accessories compliant with C.T. 933 of Telecom Italia.
