The components and optical materials supplied by Ecotech are approved by the main national network operators and used by the major installation companies as they allow for rapid and economical commissioning.
Ecotech is able to supply various types of optical brackets, assembled on request with different types of optical fiber and cable. In addition to the standard types of products, Ecotech is able to supply special and specific products on request, such as launch coils, special braces or on specified lengths, various types of customizations, special labeling and identification, or pre-connected cables (break-out) pre-ordered length for control panel cabling.
Ecotech is able to supply the most complete portfolio of passive optical components, from the most traditional to the most innovative.
The passive components supplied by Ecotech comply with the most stringent specifications of national and international standards (ITU-T, IEC, CENELEC), meet the needs of modern architectures of optical transport, metro and access networks, are perfectly integrated within network accessories that complement their use and are immediately usable in the field thanks to their excellent performance and their sturdiness and reliability combined with low cost.
SMOUV fusion splice protection can provide mechanical and environmental protection to fusion splices of both single fibers and fiber ribbons. The SMOUV consists of:
an external heat-shrink tube
an adhesive that melts at relatively low temperatures to encapsulate the joint
a barrel of stainless steel (for single fibers) or ceramic (for ribbon fibers) to ensure the necessary alignment and rigidity.
All the different types of SMOUV are compatible with the most common splicers on the market and can be used within all the fiber management systems supplied by Ecotech.

In developing the FTTH architecture, it was considered appropriate to start activities in metropolitan contexts, which present a market that is easier to access and correspond to a high availability of network infrastructures.
As regards the terminal section of the user network, the most critical situation is represented by the wiring of existing buildings, the so-called “Brownfield”, which requires the reuse of existing infrastructures and consequently the optimization and use of technological solutions and installation techniques that make it possible to wire existing buildings with the “minimum impact” on the building itself.
The products that allow the construction of vertical fiber optic systems in existing buildings for the development of the FTTH network in the metropolitan area are presented below, diversified according to the type of building:
with internal infrastructures available (already in use for the copper network or ex-Socrate Project);
without internal infrastructures available (with external rise of the existing copper system on the facade).
The products to be used for the construction of these plants are the following:
ROE (Building Optical Divider);
Optical cables (single cables or multi-fiber cables);
Accessories for vertical wiring with multi-fiber cable;
Optical termination (user socket).
The realization of the systems with internal infrastructures available can be performed with single cables with a rectangular structure or with multi-fiber cables; the choice of the cabling solution complies with the following criteria:
Single cable solution: on buildings with a number of I.U. ≤ 8;
Multi-fiber cable solution: on buildings with a number of I.U. > 8.
Ecotech is able to provide a wide range of accessories for the management and termination of optical fibers both in central and external environments, guaranteeing maximum protection of the fibers and components and at the same time maximum ease of installation, flexibility of use, reconfigurability, robustness, compactness and cost-effectiveness, minimizing both the CAP-EX and the OP-EX of the network.
The wide range of Ecotech supply products in the field of optical terminations for exchanges (subframes and cards) is able to satisfy the most advanced needs for flexibility, accessibility, modularity, compactness and ease of installation and operation required by network operators. The Ecotech subframes and supply boards can house, depending on the configurations, both permanent joints (fusion or mechanical), and the most widely used connectors, and can combine, depending on the customer’s needs, the termination functions of the cables, dissipation of stocks and permutation in the exchange.
The mini pipes suitable for the installation of optical mini cables with the “blowing” technique (blowing with compressed air) are obtained by extrusion of high density polyethylene (HDPE).
These mini pipes can have variable diameters and thicknesses according to the applications. To facilitate the laying of long pieces, the friction with the mini-cable is minimized through suitable scratches on the internal surface (in direct contact with the cable).
The minitubes are available in single configuration, or in multiple configurations (structures of minitubes), with different types of protections according to the possible applications.
Finally, various types of accessories are available to allow their use in the field or to increase the degree of protection in plants.
The joining systems designed and produced by Tyco and distributed in Italy by Ecotech are fully compliant with the Telecom Italia Technical Specifications and with the requirements of the main network operators and Public Administrations. The completeness of the accessories and the robustness and reliability of the system make it the optimal solution in all applications in both transport and access networks.
