1997: privatization of Telecom Italia. In a market split by the emergence of alternative operators, international and municipalized carriers, Ecotech srl becomes an important and reliable interlocutor for companies operating in the sector of network infrastructure construction.
In this scenario, it no longer presents itself as a simple distributor, but as a problem solver, technically supporting operators, municipal companies and technical studies.
Ecotech srl buys FERB, Figli di Ezio Rossi SpA, a historic Italian foundry, and thus presents itself as a manufacturer as well as a distributor of materials.
In October, the acquisition of two Teleco Cavi factories at a public auction leads to the birth of Ecotel srl, a manufacturer of telecommunications cables.
In August, the acquisition of the remaining equipment of the Teleco cables plants further strengthens the production capacity of Ecotel srl, which becomes one of the leading manufacturers of telecommunications cables in Europe.
In August, with the acquisition of Duratel, the group is completed with the design and production of copper and optical fiber network accessories.
In May, Cometi Srl, a leader in the production of shelters, outdoor and underground cabinets and painting booths, is purchased through an auction. Shortly thereafter, Cometi Srl will become a point of reference for the Italian TLC players.
In January it is the turn of BCP Forniture Industriali, a hardware wholesaler active for many years on the national territory and the exclusive agent of a very important manufacturer of mini pipes and structures of mini pipes.
