Telephone Wall Socket with Incorporated POTS / VDSL2 Splitter
This telephone socket incorporates a POTS / VDSL2 splitter and includes resistors with positive temperature coefficient (PTCR) and a sectionable RC network (used by Telecom Italia for quality assurance of user lines). The socket can be used either as a primary socket, in which case it acts as a network terminator and centralized splitter, or as a pass-through secondary socket.
On the back of the same there are three IDC connectors for wires with a diameter between 0.4 and 0.6 mm. The external line must be connected to the “LINE” connector, where the PTCR protections are present. The “POTS” connector is connected downstream of the splitter and the user system must be certified there in case of installations with centralized splitter. The “ADSL / VDSL” connector is connected upstream of the splitter and, confirming the user’s system, allows the distribution of POTS and VDSL signals to the following sockets.
The socket can be installed in wall boxes, both standard UNI 503 and 8×8 cm square, or in an optional box of the same color for external mounting. Various accessories are available for each type of mounting. All the plastic components of the socket (main body, rear closure, internal frame, rectangular and square front plates, adapter wings and external box) are made of white ABS.
