Italian mechanical solution
The main features of this solution are:
- High capacity / high density: up to 16 modules per strip (64 users);
- Modularity: 4 ETSI compliant splitters per module;
- Easy connection: through IDC (Insulation Displacement Contacts);
- Flexibility: possibility to combine POTS-ISDN / xDSL modules in the same strip, with or without surge / surge protectors;
- Plastic parts in self-extinguishing polycarbonate.
Up to 16 modules, each with 4 splitters, can be combined on the support base. There are five types of modules:
- POTS / ADSL2 +, ETSI Option A (complex impedance), 4 splitters per module
- POTS / ADSL2 +, 600O, 4 splitters per module
- POTS / VDSL2, ETSI Option A (complex impedance), 4 splitters per module
- ISDN / ADSL2 + 4 splitters per module (135O / 2B1Q, 150O / 4B3T)
- SHDSL or By-pass module
Various accessories are available, including a measurement probe with termination and disconnection functionality, a disconnecting plug, a specific tool for IDC connections (see figure) and female IDC connectors to connect the DSL ports of the POTS / xDSL modules.
