The new user termination was designed and developed to allow recovery of the system at the customer’s premises, against the activation of an offer of FTTCab/VDSL2 services. The termination also makes it possible to: – optimize the installation operations of the FTTCab offers with recovery of the system at the customer’s site; – improve the aesthetics of the solution at the customer site: the new socket exploits the mechanical structure of the current unified NPTU termination, already present in operation, reducing its visual impact and the invasiveness of the infrastructure compared to the double socket solution, as well as the charges relating to the development and industrialization of the technological solution. In the front part of the socket there is the actuator of the bistable slide switch which allows to include or not the RC circuit for electrical tests on the system, a RJ11 6p2c connector for re-injection of the signal on the domestic system, a connector RJ25 6p4c for modem connection. In the rear part of the sockets there are polarized IDC-type connectors with two positions each which allow the connection of conductors from 0.4 to 0.6 mm in diameter. The correct closing of the IDC connectors is ensured by plastic slides which also preserve the accidental opening of the connector during the wiring and re-access operations.
